Wilma Mae Rousu

In Loving memory of Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grand Mother and Great-Great Grandmother. 

Mom was born Wilma Mae on September 12, 1935 to the late Oscar Lindemann and Adela Stiles. Mom grew up in the Wadena, MN area where she met the love of her life, our dad Durward ‘Sonny’ Rousu. Mom and dad were united in marriage on October 16,1954 sharing 39 years together until dads passing on April 18, 1994. Mom and dad were blessed with eight children. 

If you knew mom, you are blessed. If you knew mom, you were witness to a beautiful, caring, and loving Christian, who was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church. Mom was devoted to reading her Bible daily, so strong in her faith and often spoke how glorious the day will be when she meets Jesus and those who went to heaven before her. Mom lived her last 10 months at Woodside Manor in Menahga. Mom loved her cute little apartment. I am sure some of you knew mom was quite the seamstress back in the day; along with being the most impressive and super yummy pasty pie baker ever, however, she kept busy everyday with singing, crafting, working those hands, dishing out her quick wit and her one liners, taking walks inside and outside when the weather cooperated. Mom made new friends for daily walks and those who sat with her for a luncheon now and again. Mom had a lot of friends in faith and fun. 

Mom is survived by her children: Roxanne Ballis (Dan), Wynne (Steve) Howlett, Terrence (Rita) Rousu, Cenia (Tim) Ballis, Lila (Brent) Freeman, Shirley (Jordan) Torma, and Jacqueline Rousu. In addition, there are 19 Grandchildren, 47 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. 

Mom is preceded in death by our dad, her infant son Randy Lee, her Grandson Taner, her Great Granddaughter Katelyn, son-in-law Terry, Granddaughter Arika Joy, two sisters, one brother, sister, brother-in-laws, and her parents.
