Wilfred (Butch) Allen Hillukka

Wilfred “Butch” Allen Hillukka, age 74, of Menahga, Minnesota, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at St. Cloud Hospital. Butch was born April 25, 1944 in Paddock Township to Edwin and Sylvia (Samuelson) Hillukka, the second born of eight children. He grew up on his family farm and attended country school through sixth grade and Sebeka High School through tenth grade. As a young man he worked for a few area businesses; first in Sebeka and Menahga, then in the Twin Cities area where he moved in the late 1960’s. On September 12, 1970 he was united in marriage to Sharon Rice. They were married for 47 years and were blessed with nine children, two boys and seven girls. In 1980 Butch and Sharon moved back to Sebeka where he was well known in the automobile industry for selling cars. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, wreath-making, visiting, bargain shopping, reading the daily paper, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren and family. Butch is lovingly remembered and survived by: his wife, Sharon; children, Heidi (Bryan) Kumpula of Menahga, Karen (Mark) Schultz of Verndale, Susan (Jason) Yliniemi of Park Rapids, Kristine (Tim) Juntunen of Menahga, Jodi (Brian) Smith of Park Rapids, Matthew (Anna) Hillukka of Menahga, Benjamin Hillukka of Menahga, Jennifer (Peter) Kremer of Park Rapids, Kimberly Hillukka of Menahga; twenty-eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings Wayne (Ursula), Ronald (Paulette), Beverly (Walt) Poole, Donna, John, Diane, Warren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Sylvia, and grandson Wyatt Hillukka. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Laestadian Lutheran Church of Menahga, MN and continue one hour prior to the service. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM.Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 6, 2018 at the Laestadian Lutheran Church of Menahga. Interment will be at Balmi Cemetery.
