Verdell Gladys Pudas age 67, of Menahga, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, at Greenwood Connections Nursing Home in Menahga, MN. Verdell was born to Vernon and Gladys (Haataja) KImball on October 26, 1956, in Chisholm, MN. She was the second oldest of 7 children; Glenn (Laura) Kimball, Bonnie Wagner, Daryl Kimball, Terry Kimball, Carolyn (Ron) Munger, and Shelly (Joel) Martin. She attended a country school and later transferred to Menahga where she graduated in 1974. Afterward, she attended Detroit Lakes Technical College, graduating with her transcriptionist degree. She later went onto using her degree at the Park Rapids Hospital for the majority of her career. During her college career, she met and later married Randall Pudas in 1976, whom she went on to have 5 children with. In 2000, she married Wayne Shepersky and resided in the Sebeka area for many years. She later reconnected with Randy in the fall of 2018 and spent her remaining years together. Verdell had many hobbies that kept her busy with family and friends, some of her favorites were 4-wheeling and camping, reading, gardening, playing card games, Bingo, walking (especially racing around the halls of the nursing home), watching Sunday baseball games, and anything else involving family. Verdell is survived by her daughters Maria (Jeff) Bowlin of Park Rapids, MN, Lianna (Joe) Vry of Lake Shore, MN, and sons Corey (Katie) Pudas of Brainerd, MN, Craig Pudas of NIsswa, MN, and Colby Pudas (Addi Crocker) of Wadena, MN. She was a proud grand and great grandmother to 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Gladys Kimball, nephew, David Martin, sister-in-law, Val Kimball. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, MN and continue one hour prior to the service at First English Lutheran Church in Menahga. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at First English Lutheran Church in Menahga. Interment will be at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in rural Menahga.
