Tom Bimberg passed away Oct 15, 2021 in Menahga, Minnesota. He enjoyed socializing with people, especially with friends in faith. He loved sharing stories and poems he’d written. He was fun-loving and a practical joker and considered many people his good friends. He spent a lot of time hunting. Tom had a dream of shooting a big buck with his new crossbow. He often swapped stories with the guys up north. Tom was an avid coin collector. He often quizzed his friends about coins. They usually flunked the test. Thomas Warren Bimberg was born July 24, 1952 in Wadena to Richard and Sylvia Bimberg. He joined older siblings Irene and Gary on the farm. He attended school initially in Sebeka and then Menahga, even winning a prize for the top magazine salesman in 11th grade. This was good training for selling raffle tickets for church. Tom was by far the best raffle ticket salesman. He graduated in 1970 and moved the next day to Minneapolis. In Minneapolis Tom developed many friendships; often entertaining others and bantering back and forth. He worked a variety of jobs, notably working for 11 years at Iten Chevrolet as a rust proofer and parts runner. He enjoyed visiting his siblings and their families. He’d play games with his nieces and nephews, share his interest in American history and coins, and recite poetry. In 2001 he experienced health issues and moved to Menahga. This quickly became his new home as he was welcomed by the community. He grew to like Menahga even more when some of his good friends from Minneapolis moved up as well. Tom was a precious member of the Laestadian Lutheran Church of Menahga. His faith was the most important matter in life. We thank God that Tom has attained the rest of the righteous. He will be missed by many. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 with prayer service at 7PM at the Menahga Laestadian Lutheran Church in Menahga, MN. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Menahga Laestadian Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Mantyla Cemetery.
