Shirley Rae Torvinen

Shirley was born July 6, 1959 to Phillip Orman and Elaine (Gustafson) Torvinen. She graduated from Menahga Public High School in 1977. She then moved to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area where she did babysitting and worked at the MSP airport for 10 years. Shirley returned to Menahga where she worked at the local bakery for a while. She also loved to spend time with her family and friends. Shirley really loved to watch her nieces and nephews so she could spend time with them. Shirley enjoyed baking, crafting, needle work, and spending time on her computer. Shirley is survived by her son Travis Chadderdon, brother Terry Torvinen of Sebeka, sisters, Anne (Dave) Schultz of Menahga, Mary (Tim) Haapala of Menahga, Lori (Jeff) Toppari of Fergus Falls, and Donna (Russell) Hall of Fergus Falls. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Connie, brother Philip and niece Marci. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 6, 2020 at First English Lutheran Church in Menahga, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Urnbearers will be Arlene Koski, Barb Burkman, Kathy Shepersky. Honorary Urnbearers are all her friends and family. Inurnment will be at Jim Cook Cemetery at a later date.
