Sharon Elaine Siltala

Sharon Elaine Siltala passed away peacefully at home with family by her side, on November 4, 2021. She was 76 years old. Sharon was born on September 6, 1945 in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan to Henry and Mamie (Kangas) Simonson. She attended school in Dunblane and Birsay, Saskatchewan. In 1969 she moved to Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Dick Siltala on June 6, 1970. Dick and Sharon were blessed with five children. Sharon was a lifelong member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker in the truest sense. Her home was a reflection of her warm and generous heart, full of good food, laughter and fun, but especially by her welcoming presence and great love for her family. Preceding her in death are her parents, Henry and Mamie Simonson, sisters Kathleen Pirness and Helen Riutta, an infant brother Keith, father-in-law Ervin Siltala, brother-in-law and sister-in-law David and Gloria Siltala. Sharon is survived by Dick, her husband of 51 years, children Tracey (Michael) Raisanen of Dassel, Justin of Dassel, Derek of New York Mills, Nathan (Stephanie) of Holdingford and Patricia (Andrew) Olson of St. Hilaire, 34 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sisters Sheila (Clyde) Walters of Alder Grove, British Columbia, Joyce (Melvin) Ylioja of Outlook, Saskatchewan, Carol (Dan) Siltala of Cokato, Enid Muhonen of Rogers, Annette (Juha) Marjanen of Prescott Valley, Arizona, and Leanda (Ray) Waaraniemi of Menahga, brothers David (Anna) of Outlook, Saskatchewan, Vernon (Corlyss) Simonson of Dunblane, Saskatchewan, Warren (Lyla) Simonson of Dunblane, Saskatchewan, Aaron (Joanne) Simonson of Outlook, Saskatchewan, Nathan (Beth) Simonson of Dunblane, Saskatchewan, mother in-law Mildred Siltala of Sebeka, sister-in law Kay (Ernie) Kreklau of Sebeka, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of brothers and sisters in faith. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Runeberg Apostolic Lutheran Church. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Runeberg Apostolic Lutheran Church with Pastor Lowell Skoog officiating. Interment will be at Runeberg Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery.
