Ronnie Lee Usher, age 62, of Menahga, MN lost his long battle to cancer Thursday evening November 2, 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family.Ronnie was born to Lincoln and Alverda Usher on July 7, 1955 in Iowa City. Ron was raised in Maquoketa, IA and graduated in 1974 from Maquoketa High School. Ron married the love of his life Wendy on April 30, 1977 and have been happily married for the last 40 years. Ron and Wendy moved to Menahga, MN in 1984 and have lived in the same house ever since, where they raised their family. He worked as a plumber/pipe fitter for the Union, Local 11 for 27 years.Ron loved golfing, hunting, fishing, and camping. Ron was fondly known for his kind heart and warm smile. He was very active in the community. He was a volunteer firefighter and lions member for many years. He was always on call for helping out and cooking at fundraisers including the annual Thanksgiving dinner for 26 years. He was a jack of all trades and willing to drop everything and help anyone in need, a great friend to many and an amazing father and grandfather.Ron is survived by his loving wife Wendy Usher of Menahga, MN. His three children Tim (Lissa) Usher of Menahga, MN, Tadd Usher of Park Rapids, MN, and Tanaya (Aaron) Usher of West St. Paul, MN, and his seven grandchildren Hailey, Tate, Isaiah, Alexis, Bella, Kennedy, and Deklan. Ron is also survived by his sister Pep (Richard) Tracy of Monmouth, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lincoln and Alverda. His brothers Gary Usher and Barney MacAfee and sister MaryKay Roth.A Celebration of Life will be held for Ron on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 2pm at the VFW in Menahga, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service and lunch following the service.
