Penny June Vanderheyden died unexpectedly in her home on Sunday March 3rd, 2019 in Menahga, Minnesota at the age of 73. Penny was born on June 16th 1945 in Iola, Wisconsin to Eyleen and Louis Chalich. She graduated from Walker High School and after attended a school of cosmetology. She then pursed the career for many years after. She married her best friend Todd Vanderheyden, a veteran of the air force. Before his passing they were married over 38 years. Even after having their children, they spent a lot of time traveling and living in different locations around the United States before settling down in Stone Mountain, Georgia for 23 years. After her husband’s passing, she then made the move back up to Minnesota and lived out the rest of her life with her daughter Terha and her family. She was a very kind and caring individual who had a deep love for life. She was always making people smile with her unique sense of humor. She wanted nothing more than to spend time with her family and travel. Penny is survived by her three kids and their spouses: Terha and DJ Womble, Shen and Sandie Vanderheyden, and Carre Vanderheyden and Mike Powers. Also, her three grandchildren Dakota Odom, Madison Womble, and Kegun Womble. She is preceded in death by her husband Todd Vanderheyden, her mother Eyleen Chalich, her father Louis Chalich, and her brother Terry Chalich. A private service will be held at a later date.
