Nathan John Wierimaa

Nathan John Wierimaa, age 33, formerly of Sebeka, MN passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 21, 2019 in Detroit Lakes, MN.Nathan was born to Waino and Joyce (Linden) Wierimaa at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena, MN on July 23, 1986. He was baptized into the Christian Faith. Nathan attended Sebeka Public School and graduated in 2004. He was a member of the band and played trumpet. When he was young, he enjoyed going to Finnish Language Camp and as a hobby collected coin banks. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and installing sound systems in his car. He also enjoyed many trips out west with his parents. Nathan was a faithful employee at McDonald’s in Detroit Lakes and was well liked.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Wierimaa; grandparents, Frank and Lempi Wierimaa and Art and Nora Linden; a niece, Tori Irish. Surviving are his father, Waino Wierimaa of Sebeka; daughter, Callie; a brother, Aaron (Sarah) Wierimaa of Sebeka; a sister, Laura (Darwin) Irish of Frazee, MN; niece and nephew, Jessica and Caleb; step nephews, Dakota and Austin; aunts and uncles, Dorothy (Larry) Wanous of Sebeka; Gerald Linden of Two Harbors, MN; Bruce (Janis) Linden of Pottsville, Arkansas; Judy Names of Sebeka and Jeanette Mattfeld of Roseville, CA and numerous cousins. Nathan will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Sebeka United Methodist Church with Pastor Steven Koehne officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Komppa, Eric Komppa, Wayne Miller, Ty Adams, Bo Thurston, Caleb Irish and all of his co-workers. Interment will be at a later date.
