Myron Arnold Pauna

January 23, 1975 — May 1, 2020

Myron Arnold Pauna, 45, of Menahga, MN died May 1, 2020 at his home. Myron was born January 23, 1975 in Perham, Minnesota to Arnold and Mary (Maninga) Pauna. Myron was a quiet and thoughtful person, who was nonjudgmental, tender hearted, and kind. He was a humble genius. He was interested in politics and the world around him, focusing on the bigger picture in life. He was witty and had a keen sense of humor. Myron went to school in New York Mills and Monticello Minnesota and graduated from New York Mills High School in 1993. He continued his education at Fergus Falls Community College and the University of Minnesota Duluth, receiving his degrees in Chemical Engineering and Math. He later received his MBA from Streyer University, Jack Welch Management Institute. Myron wore many hats throughout his career. He owned his first business while he was still in high school – a baseball card shop in downtown Perham, Minnesota. After finishing college, he moved to Tennessee and worked in manufacturing and drove a Schwann’s Truck. After a few years, he came back to Minnesota and worked at Team Industries and J and B Foods in Park Rapids. From there he moved to Waverly Iowa, Plymouth Minnesota and then onto Aberdeen South Dakota working in various management roles in manufacturing. In 2016, he moved back to Minnesota and worked for SJE Rhombus in Detroit Lakes as their plant operations manager. Myron was a people person making long lasting friendships wherever his jobs took him. Myron was a kid at heart and loved to play games and spend time with his family and friends. He ended everyday with 2 rounds of Yahtzee with his mom. He was an active participant in the annual camp cousin event and took his nieces and nephews fishing, biking, camping and canoeing; and played countless games of Risk and Aggravation with them. He liked to play cards with friends and family, play bingo, sing karaoke, dance and visit the casino. He loved sports of all kinds. He liked to bowl, fish, and golf until his health made it hard for him to continue. He enjoyed watching football, baseball and WWE on television. Myron battled leukemia as a young boy and was a 35-year cancer survivor until he was diagnosed with sarcoma in January 2019. He embodied the SISU spirit in his fight against cancer and reached the milestone of returning to work full time after spending months in Rochester undergoing treatment. Myron is survived by his mother, Mary Pauna, of Menahga; Siblings: Doreen (Mark) Schik of Menahga, Anne (Ronnie) Hill of Whiteville, TN; Darryl (Lisa) Pauna of Waverly, MN; Kristopher (Kappy) Pauna of Prior Lake, MN; Jonathan (Jessica) Pauna of Barnesville, MN; Nieces and Nephews: Caroline and David Schik, Dylan Hill, Seth and Chad Pauna, Ainsley, Finn, Sawyer and Logan Pauna, and Peyton, Macie, Tate and Stella Pauna, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Pauna, and his grandparents: Richard and Ida Pauna, Benjamin and Hazel Maninga Camp and Step Grandpa, Glen Camp. A private graveside memorial service will be held with family and a Celebration of Myron’s Life will be held at a later date for all family and friends.
