Marjorie Ann Schwartz

Marjorie Ann was born on April 8,1934 to Irvin and Beatrice (nee Farr) Nelson in their home in Paddock township Ottertail county. She attended White Oak district 216 and Sebeka High School before meeting the love of her life, Melvin Eugene Schwartz, in 1949. They were married on January 11, 1951 at the Parsonage in Menahga, MN and ultimately settled in Sebeka. In addition to raising her children she also babysat for several families and made Christmas Wreaths in the winter. 1975, Marjorie began working at Badoura Tree Nursery where she spent the next 25 years cultivating her love for gardening before retiring in 2000. Marj had a great passion for sewing, baking and her church...frequently making Sunday Communion bread. Marjorie was a generous woman who shared her talents and always making everyone’s favorite treats. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will cherish the quilts, blankets and even custom doll clothes made meticulously and with great love. Marj loved growing a variety of flowers and her and Melvin were well known for their large garden, canning a variety of fruits, vegetables, and meats which were always shared with family and friends. Marj resided at the Providence Villa in Sebeka and was reunited with her beloved husband of 61 years on March 30, 2019. She was 84 years old. She is survived by her children: Patricia Kisacky (Dennis), Eugene (Tami) Schwartz, Pamela Horstmann, LuAnn (Tad) Hoefs, Joel (Pam)Schwartz. Her grandchildren: Michele (Adam) Steege , Ginger Rehm (John), Stephanie (Shawn) Jordahl, Colin (Lisa) Hoefs, Toni (Matt) Wien , Drew (Shikha) Schwartz, Taylor Schwartz, Mikaela Schwartz, Katelyn Schwartz (Omar), Madalyn Schwartz, 13 great-grandchildren and her precious furry friend Macy. Sisters June (Dennis) Schmitz, Sharon (Roy) Hemphill, Linda (Marty) Covert. Sister-in-laws Kathy Nelson, Olga Schwartz, Betty Siirila, and Joan Salo. Marjorie is preceded in death by: her parents, husband Melvin, infant son, son in law Bernard, brother Kenneth , and sister Doris, brother in laws Delvin, Bob, Wally, Billy, Artie, Fred, Laverne and nephew Danny. Visitation will be held Thursday evening April 4, from 5-8 at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka and the Celebration of life will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Sebeka, Friday April 5, at 11:00 with Pastor Eric Clapp officiating. Pallbearers are DelGene Huotari, Bill Roiko, Richard Roiko, Chris Covert, Les Schwartz, and Salvador daSilva.
