Lorraine Jane Leritz, 82, of Wadena MN died at Tri County Health Care in Wadena on Sunday April 14, 2019. Lorraine was born on September 19, 1936, to Isaiah and Angeline (Bigbear) French in White Earth, MN. She grew up and attended school at the Missionary School in White Earth, MN through the eighth grade. She was united in marriage to Mathias Phillip Leritz on January 29, 1954. She was employed at many labor jobs such as Ringers, Swift’s Inc, and Lamb Weston/RDO, where she worked until she retired. She also worked hard on her family farm, raising and milking dairy cattle. Lorraine and Mathias were blessed with six children. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors in her earlier year. She also enjoyed berry picking, gardening, and canning. Later in life she enjoyed spending many hours of putting puzzles together and playing board games. One of her favorite games to play was Aggravation, where somehow she always managed to win. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Her door was always open, her smile, infectious laugh, and crazy sense of humor never failed to light up the room. Lorraine is survived by her children- David Leritz of Midway; Arnold Leritz of Menahga; Timothy (Debbie) Leritz of Midway; Sheila Leritz of Wadena; Steve Leritz of Wadena; and 14 grandchildren- James Crook; Anna Stevens; Harley Leritz; April (Nate) Schumaker; Eric (Janel) Leritz; Randy (Candy) Leritz; Christopher (Ashley) Leritz; Maria (Tony) Kohrs; Justin (Jasmine) Leritz; Jesse Flath: Linda Flath; Grant (Abby) Leritz; Jayda Leritz; Brandi (Rick) Sievers and 25 great-grandchildren; Brother Raymond French of Oklahoma; many other extended family members and very blessed friend. We cannot forget her constant companion Almost Soup, her 13-year-old Pomeranian. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, “Matty”; her daughter, Judith Stevens; her grandsons, Garry Crook and Jonathan Leritz; a great granddaughter Jaslynn Leritz; and several brothers and sisters. Honorary Pallbearers are her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Saturday May 4th, 2019 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Luncheon to follow the service at the church. Burial will be held at the Menahga City Cemetery in Menahga, MN after the lunch.
