Memorial services will be held at 1:30pm Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the Menahga Laestadian Lutheran Church in Menahga, Minnesota. Lillian received her crown of everlasting life at the age 99 on August 13, 2021. Lillian was born at the family home on June 28, 1922 to Lewis and Wilma (Mattson) Lindula in Blowers township in Ottertail County, Sebeka, MN. Lillian had to leave school after 8th grade to take care of her younger siblings due to her mother’s illness. At age 17 she began working at John Hepolas’ local store in Sebeka. Later worked in Longview, Washington for Bell Lumber Company. She met the love of her life, Art and were married on March 30, 1946. They moved to California and that is where their children, James, Louis, John and Jacqueline were born. They moved back to Sebeka, Minnesota. Lillian loved and cherished her family. She and Art loved traveling. She always had a smile and hello for anybody and everybody. If you visited, you always got coffee and treats. She also loved preparing her famous foods and desserts for family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren. Lillian can be described as “homemade”, pure and simple. At age 93 Lillian developed Dementia and later moved to Diamond Willow in Park Rapids where at the age of 99 passed peacefully surrounded by her family. Lillian is survived by her son John (Mary) Blom, daughter Jackie (Jay) Perius, grandchildren Kimberly (Matthew)Hokenson, John Jr. (Denise) Blom, Keith (Melissa) Blom, Alecia (James) McCall, Stephanie (Terry) Selander, Jennifer (Jamie) Carlson, Jayson (Jessica Hodgson) Perius, Jacob (Katie Pfeifer) Perius, Michael (Sarah Weyer)Blom, Eric (Jennifer Ayers)Blom, and great grandchildren John and Eric Salverson, Madison and Jackson Blom, Hailey, Olivia, Jadyn Evans, Brandon, Sadie, Emily, Zachary McCall, Parker, Zander Blom, Hunter Ayers, Kaitlyn, Elizabeth,Tyler Blom, Kirstin, Ethan, Owen Korfe, Jordan and Ashley Selander, Jaylynn Perius. One sibling, Laura Savela and many nieces, nephews, and all of the wonderful care givers at Diamond Willow who became her “extended family”. In Heaven waiting for her is her husband, Art, sons James and Louis, and her parents along with her six brothers, Wilbert, Harvey, Arvid, Everett, John, Melvin; two sisters, Lyla Hussey, Lorraine Rosendahl, and grandson Jamie Perius, who have gone before her.
