Jonathan Dale Nordby

Jonathan Dale Nordby, 58, died peacefully on December 26, 2019 in Menahga, MN. Jon was born January 19, 1961 in Fargo, ND, growing up and graduating with the class of 1979 in Menahga.  While in high school, he worked at a nearby turkey farm and saved to purchase stereos, guitars and cars. He attended St Cloud Technical College in the newspaper printing program, later working on newspapers in St Cloud, Bemidji and Fargo.  Jon also travelled to and lived in CA, WA and LA. In 1992, Jon suffered a traumatic brain injury and was no longer able to walk or talk.  He received loving care at Fargo Hospital, Care Centers in Perham, Red Wing, Park Rapids, Diamond Willow and for the last 10 years at Green Pine Acres, Menahga.  Jon continued to connect with others and maintained his sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Verlene Nordby and special cousin, Randy Ylitalo. Jon is survived by his siblings Daniel, Ross, Val (Brian) Burkman, Michelle (Ike) Kangas, Julie (Skip) Shepersky and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and caring friends.   A visitation will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, January 4 followed by a 1:00 pm Memorial Service at Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Menahga.
