Jean Avon Lindroos (Manthei) age 84 of Menahga MN, passed away August 10, 2021 following a brief illness. Jean was born June 24, 1937 in Long Prairie, MN to the late Harry and Dorothy Manthei. She attended high school in Redwood Falls, Menahga, Hibbing, and was a graduate of Willmar High School. Jean attended St. Cloud State University. Jean first arrived in the Menahga area in 1950 when her parents purchased and ran “Jeanne's” Twin Lakes Resort 5 miles east of town. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Sebeka. She was involved in many community endeavors over the years, serving on the Menahga City Council, Green Pine Acres Nursing Home Board, and Minnesota Power Consumer Advisory Board. Jean enjoyed supporting all the local sports teams over the years with her home often being the hub of activities on game nights. Jean was a big Twins, Vikings and Wild fan, but it was her preference to watch games without having to listen certain announcers. Jean is survived by Roger, her husband of 63 years, daughter Pam (Tim) Dewey of Avondale, AZ, son Steve (Carol) Lindroos of Wadena, MN , granddaughters Ashley Dewey, Kayla Huttunen, Kimberly Dewey and grandsons Ben Lindroos and Joe Lindroos, and 4 great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her daughter Cheryl Bergh. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 16, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church in Sebeka, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service.
