Gertrude Karjalainen

Gertrude Karjalainen, 91, of Sebeka, MN, died on Tuesday December 18, 2018 at her home in Sebeka. Gertrude was born to Alexander and Sandra (Korhonen) Karjalainen on December 9, 1927 in Viipuri, Finland. Gertrude and her family moved to Minnesota at a young age and Gertrude went to Huntersville County School District #59 East. Gertrude worked for Dr. Parker in Sebeka for over 35 years. Gertrude loved gardening and baking and especially her garden flowers. Gertrude was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Menahga where she was the organist for over 30 years.Gertrude is survived by one brother Reino Karjalainen of Sebeka and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ragnor, sisters, Ellen and Esther, nephews, Jon and Stanley.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 28, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church Menahga, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Menahga City Cemetery.
