Gale Alan Kreklau of Sebeka died of pancreatic cancer on November 28, 2018 at his home. Gale was born on March 1, 1947, along with his twin brother Larry, in Wadena, MN to Robert and Mabelle (Milbradt) Kreklau. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Sebeka. In recent years he joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Wadena. He attended country school until the fifth grade and then went to the Sebeka Public School (Town School). He graduated in 1965. He served in the National Guard for six years. He moved to the Twin Cities and was employed at Data Serve where he worked on computer repairs. After his company closed, he moved back to Sebeka where he enjoyed being the community handyman. He loved to go hunting and fishing whenever he had free time. This last fall of deer hunting, he got an 8 point buck. God gave him the strength to enjoy one last hunting season. Every spring he worked at the Sugar Shack in Sebeka processing maple syrup. He showed school children how the trees were tapped and how the syrup was made. He really liked working with the kids. For hobbies he enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, building birdhouses, and looking for treasures with his metal detectors. He is survived by his family; brothers Robert (Kathy) Kreklau of Crozet, Virginia, Larry Kreklau of Wadena, Douglas (Cindy) Kreklau of Grimes, Iowa, Randy Kreklau of Sebeka and sisters Rita Lange of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and Wendy Cloud of Sebeka, as well as two nephews, five nieces, and numerous friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mabelle Kreklau, brother Gary, brothers-in-law Gene Lange and Darryl Cloud. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 4 at 11:00 am at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Wadena, Minnesota. Pastor Peter Emig will officiate the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Sebeka.
