Faythe Estella Audrey Kinnunen

Faythe Estella Audrey Kinnunen, age 93, passed away on Sunday May 8, 2022, at Greenwood Connections in Menahga. Faythe was born on September 4, 1928, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to Ole and Olga Skaar. She grew up on the family farm with 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Faythe graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls and went on to get her teaching certificate. Faythe taught at a country school in Greenbush, Minnesota. She later moved to Meadow Township where she taught at the District 52 school. When teaching in the Menahga area, she met and married Harold Kinnunen in 1951. Harold and Faythe raised 5 children, primarily in Grand Rapids, MN. Harold and Faythe moved back to the family farm in 1980. Faythe worked for a time at Kremer's department store in Grand Rapids. She also helped out in Harold's office and worked at the credit union in Sebeka until she retired. Faythe was a talented seamstress and was very accomplished with knitting and crocheting. Faythe is survived by children Nancy (Ken) Skiff, Janet Kinnunen, Marge Kinnunen, Daniel (Kimm Brown) Kinnunen, and Bruce (Jeanne) Kinnunen. She has 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, sister Martha Parsons and brother Erven (Bette) Skaar, Faythe was preceded in death by husband Harold Kinnunen and infant son, Terry, and her parents Olga and Ole Skaar, sisters Oline (Rod) Markine, Thelma (Art) Terrian and Elsie (Robert) Fairbank, and brothers Andrew Skaar and Leonard Skaar. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Sebeka, MN with visitation two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Jim Cook Cemetery.
