Ervin Ernest Peterson

Ervin Ernest Peterson, resident of Menahga, passed away at home on Sunday, November 8, 2020. He was 78 years old. He was born July 1, 1942 in Oakland, California to Arvid and Evelyn Peterson. He graduated from Minneapolis Vocational High School in 1960. On May 25, 1963, Ervin and Mary were united in marriage. They were blessed with 13 children. Ervin worked in the printing industry for 46 years in the Minneapolis area. After retiring in 2006, Ervin and Mary moved to Menahga where they spent the last 14 years. Ervin was a lifelong member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church and was a servant of the gospel. He is preceded in death by his parents Arvid and Evelyn, stepfather Carl Hendrickson, his two daughters Julie and Margaret, grandson Brian Pietila, brothers Ray and Calvin, and brother-in-law Ben Wuollet. Ervin is survived by Mary, his wife of 57 years, children Mark (Laura) Peterson of Delano, Minnesota, Mike (Loretta) Peterson of Greenfield, Minnesota, Kathryn (Keith) Johnson of Laurium, Michigan, Loren (Anita) Peterson of Cokato, Minnesota, Al (Maggie) Peterson of Menahga, Minnesota, Rachel (Brad) Ylitalo of Delano, Minnesota, Jon (Sara) Peterson of Menagha, Minnesota, Rebecca (Mark) Pietila of Howell, Michigan, Nora (Peter) Pietila of Delano, Minnesota, Brian (Emily) Peterson of Menahga, Minnesota, Kristin (Dennis) Juopperi of Delano, Minnesota, 75 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, brother Ronald (Audrey) Peterson of Phoenix, Arizona, sisters Jeanette Wuollet of Phoenix, Arizona, Joyce (Eugene) Kumpala, of Menahga, Minnesota, Ruth (Paul) Koivisto of Phoenix, Arizona, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of brothers and sisters in faith. Visitation will be held from 4-8 Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Runeberg Apostolic Lutheran Church in rural Menahga, MN. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Runeberg Apostolic Lutheran Church. Interment will be at the Runeberg Cemetery.
