Celebration of Life will be held from 4-8 PM on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Menahga VFW. Donald Clarence Mullen, age 77, a longtime resident of Menahga, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020. Don was born on May 8, 1943 in rural Runeberg township, Menahga, Minnesota to Roy and Miriam (Haverinen) Mullen. He grew up with siblings, Roy, Vern, and Shirley. He attended country school and graduated from high school. He was drafted into the United States Army. He served as a drill instructor for two years. He loved to share these stories with everyone. He was honorably discharged. Throughout his life, he loved to build various things. He retired from the Carpenter’s Union in Minneapolis, MN. After retiring, he returned to Menahga to start Mullen Logging with his son Donny. They enjoyed 12 years of doing this together. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and building things. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler. Don’s favorite trip was elk hunting in Idaho where he shot a massive 6x6 bull elk. Don will be lovingly remembered by all of his family, including his son Don (Becky) Mullen of Menahga; daughter Heather (George) Gartner of Menahga; his grandchildren Elizabeth, Jared, Taylor, Brock, Dalton, and Carson as well as all of his nieces and nephews.
