Diane Crystal Robinson

Diane Crystal Robinson of Sebeka, passed away on December 30, 2021 at Tri County Health Care in Wadena, MN. Diane was born on August 31, 1945 to Lawrence and Violet (Mier) in North Germany Township, Sebeka, MN. She lived and worked on the farm with her parents and attended Sebeka School and graduated with the class of 1963. She met the love of her life, Alva Robinson in 1961 and they enjoyed going to the local dance halls every weekend and danced the night away. They could still “cut a rug” many years later. They decided to make it official and got married in 1964 and two children were born to them, Carolyn and Dale. Diane worked side by side with Alva on the farm every day. It was hard work but she never complained. They were very close, you rarely saw one of them without the other. She enjoyed being a homemaker and made a house our home. She loved to cook and bake and if you left her table hungry, it was your own fault. Flea markets and auctions were a favorite. She liked to shop for other people and perused mail order catalogs for gifts for others. Outside she had large flower beds that she tended to all summer and loved mowing lawn. They once received recognition for having a large, well maintained yard of flowers. Family and friends were important to her and she loved the time she got to spend with them. She was devoted to her husband and loved him deeply. She always said that she was so proud of her kids and their spouses, whom she thought of as her own kids. She delighted at the birth of each grandchild and absolutely adored her great grandchildren. She loved animals and caring for them, and she had many pets over the years. Most recently, she had been a resident of Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena and was recuperating from a severe head injury in July. Diane loved being a wife, mom, grandma and great grandma. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years, Alva of Sebeka, MN; She will also be missed by her beloved dog, Dixie and her cats; daughter, Carolyn (Darwin) Skillings of Bluegrass, MN; son Dale (Carmen) of Wadena, MN; grandsons, Allan (Sheila) and their children Ashlyn and Addalyn of Eagle Bend, MN; Logan Skillings of Bluegrass, MN; and Cody (Alysha) and children Kiyanne and Makenna of Wadena, MN; brother in law, George of Minneapolis, MN and sister in law, Gladys of North Carolina. A sister, in Sebeka, MN. An aunt in Washington and several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded by her parents; Lawrence and Violet; her parents in law, Earl and Lee; her grandparents; sisters in law, Mae, Faith and June; brothers in law, Bill and Al and many very loved pets. A special thank you to the staff at Fair Oaks Lodge for the care, compassion and love shown to our wife, mom, grandma and great grandma during her stay with them. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 7, 2022 at Wevley Funeral Home Sebeka, MN with visitation two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at Sebeka West Cemetery.
