Derek Allyn Simpson

Derek Allyn Simpson passed away September 21st 2019 at the young age of 26. Born in Buffalo Minnesota on April 12th 1993, the youngest son of Marc and Cindy Simpson. He attended Monticello Public Schools and graduated 2011.  He worked at Foltz Trucking in Detroit Lakes Minnesota maintaining their trucks and trailers and was a member of the Detroit Lakes Fire Department starting his service in May 2016. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Monticello Minnesota where he was baptized.  He enjoyed any and all outside activities including Hunting, Fishing and drinking a few beers with all his friends. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality and his ability to be the life of his family and friends. He is survived by his parents Marc and Cindy Simpson his brother Mike and wife Rae Lynn Simpson, his brother Matt and wife Samantha Simpson and numerous nieces and nephews, he was preceded in death by Grandparents Lester and Doris Simpson, Lowell Huso and Betty and Amer Froysland. The memorial service will be held on October 2nd 2019 at 1 p.m. at First English Lutheran Church 17 Main Street Menahga Minnesota 56464 with interment to be established at a later date. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Detroit Lakes Fire Department.  417 Main Street West Detroit Lakes Minnesota 56501
