Bernice Louise Iliff

 Bernice Louise Iliff (91) passed away on Friday April 13, 2018 at Tri-County Health Care in Wadena, Minnesota, in the presence of family. Bernice was born August 17, 1926 in Dubuque, Iowa to Charles Wallace and Louise Elizabeth Brewer and was a member of the Methodist Church. Bernice graduated from high school in Fayette, Iowa in 1944. She then moved to Waterloo, Iowa and worked in a Dry Cleaners Office. She married Harold Frank Iliff on September 9, 1945 and returned to Valejo, CA until Harold’s discharge from the Marine Corps. They then moved to Nebraska where they owned and operated a bakery for several years. They also lived in Colorado, Wyoming, and Iowa during which Bernice initially worked as a waitress then several years for JC Penny in Craig, CO and Rawlins, WY. Bernice and Harold moved to Menahga, MN in the early 1980’s. When asked what her favorite memory in life was, Bernice responded “having my children.” Bernice enjoyed her family, dancing, crocheting, sewing, decorating cakes, flowers (especially roses), traveling, animals, birds, and supporting the military. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Louise, two brothers Albert and Leo Brewer, sister Dorothy Kauten, and her husband of 52 years, Harold Iliff. She is survived by her five sons, Duane Iliff of Pine Bluffs, MN;Benjamin Iliff of Rawlins, WY; Val (Patricia) Iliff of Rawlins, Wyoming; Chib Iliff of Twin Falls, Idaho; and Carl (Danene) Iliff of Wilcox, Arizona; her special “adopted daughter” Karen Aarestad of Brainerd, MN, several grandchildren, several Great Grandchildren, several Great-Great Grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, and close friends Carol Hodgdenand Dwight and Faye Kumara of Menahga. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm on Thursday April 26, 2018 at Menahga Methodist Church in Menahga, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Menahga City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Iliff family and Hodgden family members.
