Arlene Elaine Arvola

May 25, 1945 — February 3, 2021

Arlene Elaine (Keranen) Arvola, born on May 25th 1945 to Henry and Hilda keranen in Detroit Lakes, MN. Died on Feb 3rd 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids, MN. Arlene graduated from Menahga School in 1963 and moved to Minneapolis and was employed at Archer Daniels Midland and Northwest Airlines. In October of 1969 she married Kenneth Arvola. Later they moved to Menahga where she gained employment at the Menahga School as the head cook.Arlene served the children at the school for 34 years and loved every minute of it. In the summers Arlene would go to Many Point Scout Camp where she was the head cook for 30 years. Arlene owned the Cottage House Cafe in Menahga with her sister Carol and worked there when she was not at her other jobs. Arlene leaves to mourn her husband Kenneth and siblings, twin brother Arnold (Cindy) Keranen of Wolf Lake; Harold (Aila) Keranen of Arizona; MaryAnn Haverinen of Menahga; Robert (Nancy) Keranen of Menahga; Hilda Jean (Lester) Huhta of Maple Grove, MN; Helen (Bill) Rath of Grand Forks, ND; Glenn Keranen of Wolf Lake; Carol (Duane) Waaraniemi of Menahga; Annette (Ralph) Kilpela of Cokato, MN; Randall (Sheila) Keranen of Wolf Lake; and a host of nieces and nephews. Arlene is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Hilda, brothers Elmer and Roland, and Sister Edna Mae. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Sunday, February 7, 2021 at the Wolf Lake Laestadian Lutheran Church in Wolf Lake, MN and continue one hour prior to the service at the Church. Funeral Services will be at the Wolf Lake Laestadian Lutheran Church at 11 AM Monday, February 8, 2021 with a visitation 1 hour prior to. Interment will be at Balmi Cemetery rural Wolf Lake.
