Albert Jay Lund

March 6, 1955 — March 30, 2020

Albert Lund 65 of Menahga, Mn, died March 30, 2020 at St Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids MN. Albert Jay Lund was born March 6, 1955 in Park Rapids, Mn to Edwin and Beverly (Dormanen) Lund. He grew up and graduated in Detroit Lakes. From an early age Albert loved sports, his passion was baseball. As a child he played baseball on his family’s empty lot with all the neighbor kids, and his brothers. His Father coached the Lund boy’s baseball teams as they were growing up. Albert went on to Play, Coach and Umpire for the Midway Snurdbirds during the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. It is fair to say Midway baseball just lost its biggest fan. He also had a passion for music, politics, fast cars and slow tractors. Albert worked as a carpenter most of his life but if you knew him you know he considered himself to be “A lover, a fighter, a wild horse rider and a damn good windmill man.” Albert is survived by his son Jacob (Cari Marie Neisess) and their son Kai of Menahga MN, his son Isaac (Jamie Geerhauser) and their son Riley of Tacoma Washington. His Sister Lynette Conmy (Bruce), Brothers Tim Lund (Lynn), Randy Lund, and Chris Lund (Melissa). Preceding him in death are his Parents Edwin and Beverly Lund, a Sister Lila Lund, and Brother Curtis Lund. A Celebration Life Service will be held in July 2020. More details to come.
