Mary Ann Katherine Kluenenberg was born July 27, 1925 at Bluffton, Minnesota to John R. Schmitz and Rose Aultmann and died June 25, 2010 at Heritage House of Sebeka surrounded by her loving family. She was raised in Bluffton by her grandmother and attended country school and parochial school in Bluffton through the eighth grade. She married Rudy Tuorila, and they moved to Texas where a son, Larry was born. They returned to the Sebeka area where she worked in various Sebeka cafes and restaurants for several years. On September 6, 1952 Mary Ann was united in marriage to Bernard Kluenenberg. They resided in Sebeka where they raised their family. She enjoyed gardening, hunting for morel mushrooms, and picking blueberries. Family pets, especially dogs, held a special place in her heart. She was a member of the Sebeka American Legion Auxiliary for forty years. Mary Ann is survived by: three daughters, Rose Ann (Richard) Murray of Foreston, Minnesota, Ivy (Michael) Pearson of Ramsey, Minnesota, and Janine (Darrell) Corbin of Sebeka; three sons, Larry (Patricia) Tuorila of Ravenel, South Carolina, Steven (Gail) Kluenenberg of Wadena, and Karl (Ann) Kluenenberg of Big Lake, Minnesota.; one sister, Susanna Beldo of New York Mills; one brother, John (Jack) Schmitz of Pengilly, Minnesota; two sisters-in-law, Mavis Schmitz of Sebeka and Frances (Art) Nesges of New York Mills, Minnesota; nine grandchildren, Derrick (Susie) Murray, Galen Murray, Susan Kluenenberg, Christine (Dennis) Krell, Melissa Pearson, Jason Kluenenberg, Kyle Kluenenberg, Evan (Jenny) Corbin, and Kelsey Corbin; and three great-grandchildren, Aden Krell, Jade Whitcomb, and Bailee Kluenenberg; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ben, parents, one brother, Frank Schmitz, and two sisters, Janetta Nelson Limanen, Frances Horstman and one granddaughter. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 with Prayer Service at 6:00 PM at the Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, MN, and one hour prior to the service at the Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bluffton, Minnesota at 11:00 AM on July 1, 2010 with Father Donald Wagner as Celebrant. Linda Imdieke will serve as organist and music will be provided by St. John’s Choir. Honorary Pallbearers are her great-grandchildren. Active Casketbearers are her grandchildren. Interment will be at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Bluffton.
