Grace Catherine Fredericksen

Grace Catherine (Regennitter) Fredericksen age 92, of Nimrod, MN died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, MN. Grace Catherine was born to Adolph and Alponia Regennitter on August 15, 1917 near Vivian, South Dakota. Grace attended school in the Vivian area and graduated from Vivian High School. She then attended Notre Dame Teachers College in Mitchell, South Dakota. She taught at several rural schools in South Dakota. Grace married Carl Fredericksen on June 23, 1937 in Vivian South Dakota. They had two sons, Lloyd and Donald. Carl and Grace farmed in South Dakota until October of 1950, when they bought a farm and moved to Orton Township, where they farmed until Carl retired. Grace remained at the farm after Carl's death in 1984, until moving to Sebeka Heritage House in February of 2009, due to declining health. She moved to Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in March of 2010. Grace worked for many years at the Badoura Nursery and Maddens Resort. She enjoyed playing cards and reading. She will be best remembered for the many quilts that she made. She was a member of St. Hubert’s Catholic Church, the Crow Wing Ladies Club and the Nimrod Senior Citizens. Grace is survived by sons Lloyd (Connie) and Don (Jackie) both of Nimrod, four grandchildren and one great-grandson, sisters Rita Schwartz of Nebraska, Esther Muldoon and Phyllis Manhalter of South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, brothers Ralph and Donald Regennitter and sisters, Marie Kotz and Margurite Giedd and daughter-in-law Charmaine Fredericksen. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Monday, June 21, 2010 at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, MN with Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church in Bluegrass with Father Scott Wittkop officiating. Mary Beth Brockpahler will serve as organist and soloist. Active Casketbearers are Don Fredericksen, Jackie Fredericksen, Lloyd Fredericksen, Connie Fredericksen, Dustin Fredericksen and Tammy Ehrmantraut. Interment will be at West Lyons Cemetery.
