Elsie Mae Stierna

Elsie Mae Stierna, 72, of Staples, MN died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Lakewood Health Care Center in Staples, MN. Elsie was born to Lawrence and Selina (Kempton) Warm on April 25, 1938, in North Germany Township, Wadena County, MN. She grew up living with her family in Nimrod, MN. She attended Nimrod Country School District #21-3 grades one through seven and graduated from Sebeka High School in 1959. Elsie married Rueben Stierna August 27, 1960. They made their home in Aurora, MN until 1995 when they moved to Wadena and settling later in Menahga at Greenwood Connections. She enjoyed embroidery work and being a homemaker and visiting with family and friends. Elsie cherished fond memories of her girlhood. The second of four children, Elsie was a very loving wife, sister, aunt and friend. Elsie is survived by her husband. Rueben Stierna of Menahga; one brother, Donald (Audriene) Warm of Silver Bay, MN; two sisters Larraine (James) Finck of Verndale, MN and Debra (Darrell) Anderson of Monticello, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, May 3, 2010 at Sebeka United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Loren Ferch will officiate. Jayne Koskiniemi will serve as organist. Sheila and Ashley Gades will sing “The Old Rugged Cross” and “I’d rather have Jesus,” Congregational hymn will be “What a Friend We have in Jesus.” Pallbearers are a host of family and friends. Interment will be at the Paddock Bethany Cemetery, Paddock Township, Otter Tail County.
