Michael Lee Johnson

Michael Lee Johnson, 39 of Sebeka, MN died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Tri County Hospital in Wadena, MN. Michael Lee Johnson was born at Wesley Hospital in Wadena on August 6, 1970 to Winton and Vernice Swenson. He came to live with Alvin and Betty Johnson at the age of nine months and was later adopted. He attended Sebeka School and graduated with the class of 1988. Michael enjoyed the outdoors especially deer hunting and fishing. He worked at various jobs including sawmills, logging, welding as well as working on motors and vehicles. He married Melissa Harne on September 29, 2001. Michael is survived by his daughter Willow Johnson; his mothers Betty Johnson and Vernice Hunt; four sisters, Carol Arneson and her husband Mike; Linda Groth and her husband Curtis; Sharon Brasuhn and her husband John and Jenille Wilcox; six brothers, Duane Johnson and his wife Kaitie; LaVern Johnson and his wife Connie; Kevin Johnson and his wife Melaine; Curtis Swenson and his wife Sheri; Keith Swenson; and Winton Walters; Special Friend Elizabeth “Janie” Weslie; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by Alvin Johnson and Winton Swenson and Paternal and Maternal Grandparents. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, February 22, 2010 at Sebeka United Methodist Church with Pastor Loren Ferch officiating. Jayne Koskiniemi will serve as organist. Special music will be “On the Wings of a Snow White Dove” and Pastor Loren Ferch solo “On Eagles Wings.” Congregational hymns are “What a Friend we have in Jesus” and “Precious Lord, take My Hand.” Recessional will be “A Country Boy can Survive.” Honorary Pallbearers are the Class of 1988. Active Casketbearers include Jake Johnson, John Johnson, Hattie Johnson, Kenny Szathmary, Brian Olson and Cory Christiansen. Interment will be at West Lyons Cemetery, Arrangements were entrusted to Wevley Funeral Home.
