Elphie Buelah Miller

Elphie Buelah Miller age 83, of Menahga, MN died Friday, January 1, 2010 at her home in rural Menahga, MN. Elphie was born on to Charles and Freeda (Maple) Hansen on April 27, 1926 in Lake Lillian, MN. She was united in marriage to Wesley W. Gilbert in 1949. They lived in the Lake Lillian and Willmar area. Wesley died in 1972 and in 1982 she married Arnold Miller and they farmed in the Menahga area. Elphie loved animals and working in her puzzle books. She had a strong faith in God. Elphie is survived by her sons Daniel (Roxanne) Gilbert of Menahga, MN; Thomas (Gail) Gilbert of Ramsey, MN; and daughter Joyce Gilbert of Sebeka, MN; three grandsons and two great grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, brothers, Elmer, James and Theodore Hansen, sister, Shirley Gilbert and son, Wesley Gilbert Jr. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 7, 2010 at First English Lutheran Church in Menahga, MN with visitation two hours prior to the service at the Church. Pastor Steven A. Bruer will officiate. Shirley Anderson will serve as organist. Congregational hymns are “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art” and “Joy to the World.” Active Casketbearers are Thomas Gilbert, Brandon Gilbert, Christopher Gilbert and Jennifer Smith. Interment will be at Hillview Cemetery following a luncheon severed by the women of First English Lutheran Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Wevley Funeral Home Sebeka, MN.
