Denise (Lapoint) Lorraine Wuollet

Denise Lorraine Wuollet, age 58, passed away August 2, 2017 at St Cloud Hospital with family at her side. Denise was born August 21, 1958 to Arthur and Jean (Castle) LaPoint in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her school years were spent in Minneapolis; she also attended Tech School for their clerical program. She worked as a secretary several years in Minneapolis before moving to the Leaf Lakes area in Otter Tail County. In August, 1996, Dale Wuollet stopped for supper in Perham, MN on his way home from working road construction. He met his future wife in the café and they were married August 4, 2001. Their first date was at the Rollag threshing show. They made their home in rural New York Mills. Denise worked at Perham Memorial Hospital several years until resigning due to health reasons. Denise was a kind, gentle and generous person who enjoyed BBQ’s, cooking and entertaining family and friends. She was always willing to help anyone in need, young people and kids loved Denise for her non-judgmental ways. She loved raking hay, driving tractor while baling and driving the skid steer. Hobbies were reading, garage sales, flea markets, motor cycle riding and county fairs. She liked plants (could raise the nicest orchids) and loved candles. One big thrill was watching her brother fall off a horse while he was trying to ride using a kid’s saddle Next to family her greatest love was animals. Any stray animal could find a home at their home, if there would have been room, she would have emptied the animal shelter. Denise and Shirley attended an animal auction one time, she surprised Dale that evening with two llamas and two baby goats. She felt so sorry for the goats for losing their mom. That was the beginning of their goat herd. Denise is survived by her husband Dale of New York Mills, her brothers: Art (Cathy) LaPoint of Eden Prairie MN, Stuart LaPoint of Minneapolis MN and Carter LaPoint of Henning MN, her sisters: Martha Carlson of Minneapolis MN and Nancy (David) Jacobson of Brooklyn Center MN, her mother-in-law, Shirley Wuollet of New York Mills. She is also survived by 4 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law, along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and distant relatives. Also surviving are her dogs, Zoltan and Chevy and cat, Waifer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Jean LaPoint, a sister Lynette Ness, one brother-in-law Greg Carlson, her father-in-law Vincent Wuollet, and nephew Nick Prosser. Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sebeka United Methodist Church in Sebeka, MN, with Pastor Steve Koehne officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at a later date.
