Denise Patricia Rathcke

Denise Patricia Rathcke was born in Park Rapids, Minnesota on February 28, 1968 to Patrick & Margaret (Tappe) Rathcke. Denise was baptized and confirmed at Nimrod Lutheran Church. She attended school at Sebeka Public Schools where she graduated in 1986. After graduation from high school she attended St. Cloud State University. Denise lived most of her life in her favorite town of Nimrod, and loved the town and all the people there. Denise was an avid reader and loved to watch sports, live or on TV. She enjoyed visiting with family, friends and even strangers who came to Nimrod. Throughout her life she worked a variety of jobs, mainly in the surrounding area and Nimrod. Denise lost her battle with cancer and went to rest peacefully on January 15, 2017 at her parents home. Denise is survived by her mother Margaret (Tappe) Rathcke of Nimrod and sister Lani Rathcke of Fort Collins, Colorado. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Denise is preceded in death by her father Patrick Rathcke, Grandparents Arthur & Coletta (Sweeney) Rathcke, Clarence & Mary (McCormick) Tappe, Uncle Terry Rathcke, aunts Maryjean (Tappe) Fontonoe, Lois (Madsen) Rathcke, and Jane (Sarkela) Rathcke, cousins Daren Rathcke, and Michael Tappe. Memorial Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 20, 2017 at Nimrod Lutheran Church in Nimrod, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will follow the service at Lyons/Marshall Cemetery.
