Stanley Duane Frahm, age 91, of Sebeka, MN, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home under hospice care, December 29, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Stanley was born on May 21, 1925 in Wimbledon, ND to Peter and Lucille (Stanley) Frahm. Growing up on a farm in Wimbledon, ND, he attended school and played drums for a local German band. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Navy. Stationed in Sydney, Australia he served our country during WWII aboard the USS Birmingham. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Upon returning stateside, he attended NDSU and worked for Northwestern Equipment, Fargo, ND. Stanley met his wife Gladys (Haukedahl) at the Crystal Ballroom in Fargo and were united in marriage May 5, 1951. In 1953, they moved to a farm in rural Sebeka where they raised their seven children. He farmed, worked for the United States Postal Service and drove school bus for Sebeka school district. Stanley was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, North Germany Township, an active member of American Legion Post 456 playing his drum at numerous parades, 4-H leader for the East Jolly Jets, and a member of the NFO. Stanley enjoyed collecting books, sketching, telling stories of his life in the Navy, going for car rides to see the countryside, and visiting with his family. He was a gentle soul with a gracious heart. Stanley is survived by his seven children, Dennis (Mary) Frahm of Moorhead, MN; Vicky (Roger) Tuorila of Sebeka, MN; Claudia Frahm, Moorhead, MN; Lee (Diane Bishop) Frahm of Grand Rapids, MN; Brenda (Gaylan) Witt, Henning, MN; Peter (Karen) Frahm of Granite Falls, MN and Luanna (Mike) Lake of Detroit Lakes, MN; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren (and one on the way), Cassandra (Lyle) Banyai and Gavan of Moorhead, MN; Tanya (Ted) Kern and Shelby, Garrett and Emily, Tyler, MN; Trevor (Heidi) Tuorila, and retired K-9 Axel, Becker, MN; Joshua (Stephanie Tobias) Frahm, Deacon and Logan, Grand Rapids, MN; Sarah (Aaron) Stefanich, Anne and Fredrick, Grand Forks, ND; Jesse (Rachael) Witt, Nolan and Grady, Sartell, MN; Jonah Witt, Detroit Lakes, MN; Rory Witt, Henning, MN; Chelsea (John) Baker, and Beya and baby, Surprise, AZ; Aaron (Whitney Manka) Frahm, and Bristol, Duluth, MN; Ryan (Katie) Frahm, and Thaddeus, Duluth, MN; Jacob Lake and Brady Lake, Detroit Lakes, MN; one sister, Cleora Anderson of Fargo, ND; one brother Jim Frahm of Washington, IA, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Gladys (Haukedahl), his parents; brother-in-law Myrle Anderson; and granddaughter Tiffany Frahm. Visitation is Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at Wevley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Sebeka with visitation one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be at Zion Cemetery, North Germany Township.
