Verena Helen Ronnebaum

Verena Helen Ronnebaum, age 96, passed away on the morning of August 9th, 2016 at her home in rural Wadena, MN. Verena was born in Munich, North Dakota to Oscar and Frances (Helten) Schmitz on December 11th, 1919. At age 10, her family moved to Minnesota, where she later graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1940. She united in marriage to Robert Ronnebaum in 1945, after he returned home from the war. While Robert was overseas, Verena worked in Defense Plants in San Diego, CA and Portland, OR. They later settled on a dairy farm near Sebeka, MN and raised 6 children of their own. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 14th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 15th at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church in Bluegrass, MN. Burial will follow at St. Hubert’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Lawrence, Karla Ronnebaum, Sheena Ronnebaum, Craig Dill, Ryan Stahl, and Bobby Becker Verena is preceded in death by her eldest son; Roger Ronnebaum (1992), husband; Robert Ronnebaum (2007), and son-in-law; Robert Stahl (2016). Verena is survived by her daughters, Ruth Stahl of Nimrod, MN, Doris Ronnebaum of Wadena, MN, and Ellen (Don) Malone of Wasilla, AK; sons, Brian Ronnebaum of Grand Rapids, MN, and Gary (Camille) Ronnebaum of Menahga, MN; daughter-in-law, Kathy Ott of Elk River, MN; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild.
