Marie Ann Seikkula, age 61 passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Henning, MN. Marie was born to Clifford and Melba (Parvi) Dormanen in Piney Point, Maryland. Born into a Navy family they were stationed in Coronado, California, Kwajalein, Marshall Islands, Great Lakes Naval Base, Illinois, and Pearl Harbor Hawaii. After her fathers Naval retirement they settled in Brooklyn Park, MN and she graduated from Osseo High School. Marie was united in marriage to Bobby E. Seikkula on September 23 1972 they made their home in Menahga, MN. Marie’s first job was at Ringers in Park Rapids, MN. She then went to work at Cooperative Sampo in Menahga in 1976 where she was currently employed. Marie was a member of First English Lutheran Church of Menahga where she was a Sunday School teacher and church council member. She was a long time Shell River Township Board member and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Marie enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, embroidery and most of all spending time with family. Marie is preceded in death by her father Clifford Dormanen and her brother Gregory Dormanen. Marie is survived by her husband Bobby, one child Kristine (Tim) Hendrickson of Menahga, MN; grandchildren Kate, Gabe, Jada, Rena; mother, Melba Dormanen of Menahga, MN; brother, Duane (Melissa) Dormanen of Big Lake, MN and numerous relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM December 28, 2015 at First English Lutheran Church in Menahga. Interment will be at Jim Cook Cemetery.
