Twyla Elaine Riski

Twyla Elaine (Heino) Riski of Sebeka, MN received her well-deserved Angel wings Friday December 18, 2015. Twyla was born August 13, 1952 to William and Esther (Carpenter) Heino in Wadena, MN. She had many adventures on the Heino family farm north of Sebeka. Twyla graduated from Sebeka High School in 1970. After graduation, she stayed in Wadena with her sister Judy and brother-in-law Holger, nieces Trudy and Andrea and nephew Randy. She spent a year there working at The Bus Stop, attending Tech School and getting in to mischief. Twyla moved to Townsend, Montana in 1973, where she worked with Dale Hillig, Harvey Makela, Sheila Makela and Marilyn (Carpenter) Warmbold. Twyla, Sheila and Marilyn were very proud to be the first women to work at the Townsend Sawmill. In 1975 Twyla moved back to Sebeka and was united in marriage to Vernon Schleder on June 21, 1975. They lived on a farm south of Sebeka and were blessed with five children, Heather, Samantha, Tony, Christa and Billy. Twyla was a wonderful stay at home mom that took the time to make sure she help each of the kids create lifelong memories. She made each of their birthdays extra special! Twyla was united in marriage to John Riski on July 3, 1990. They made their home in Minto, ND. Through her marriage with John, she gained two more children, Jack and Jody, Twyla and John enjoyed traveling together, along with fishing in Alaska and the MN lakes. Twyla was full of Faith and looked forward to helping with Vacation Bible School every summer. Twyla loved spending time with her family fur baby Tinkerbell and her grandchildren. She was blessed to have five grandchildren, Tony, Evit, Hailey, Terk and Tori, who lived close to her and kept Grandma busy. She also had a special spot in her heart and home for all the neighborhood kids. In her free time, Twyla enjoyed reading, listening to music and cross stitching. Another favorite thing to do was shopping at Walmart, where she had many special relationships with the employees. She loved sharing joy by giving surprises to many. She loved buying clothes and everyone that knew Twyla, knew she was a fashionista. Twyla will be sadly missed by her husband, children, Tinkerbell, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and pretty much anyone who ever met her. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church in Sebeka, MN.Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery.
