Robert Earl Berry, age 88 passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015 at the VA Nursing Home in St. Cloud, MN. Robert was born January 22, 1927 in DesLacs, North Dakota to Lyle and Helen Berry. He was raised in DesLacs and attended school at Lonetree, ND. He enlisted into the United States Navy on December 14, 1944 and served during WWII aboard the USS Libra. He was honorable discharged on April 17, 1946. After the service he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad as a clerk for ten years. He married Darlene Rademacher on October 20, 1953. They moved to Minnesota where they farmed for 18 years, and then moved to Sebeka where Bob did carpenter work until he retired. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, model trains and field work. For 57 years he was an avid member of the American Legion and was also a member of the Model Railroad Club. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Darlene (Rademacher) Berry, his children, Craig (Janell) of Perham; Curt (Deb) of Sebeka; Pam (Myron) Redetzke of Sebeka; Kim (Darrel) Olson of Baxter, Kevin (Darla) of Sebeka; and Denise Christiansen of Otsego; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, his siblings, Jackie (Louise) Berry of Minot, ND and Fern (Chet) Kupfer of Minot, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Edward and Alvin Berry and sister, Joy Hennessey. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Thursday, October 1, 2015 and one hour prior to the service at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 2, 2015 at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka.
