May Borg went home to Jesus, on August 16, 2015, peacefully in her sleep at age 100 years, 8 months and 23 days. She was born May Vivian Bemis on November 24, 1914 to Fred and Molly Bemis of Egan, SD and graduated from High School there. Her parents moved to a farm east of Sebeka in the late thirties. May and Edwin Borg were married in 1941 and raised six children in Meadow Township. She was an active member of The Cat Creek Sunday School and Ladies Aid. She was a great mom, cook, baker, gardener and friend. May was an Active Member of the Sebeka United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin, son Donald, sisters Hazel Bemis, Opal Elifrits, brothers Zirl, Ora and Roy. May is survived by children Wanita Pilcher, of Wadena, Ruby Bautch of Staples, Ken (Kathy) of Anaheim, CA, Mary Lou (Larry) Rieber of Breezy Point/Apache Junction, AZ, and Betty (Chuck) Lapinoja of Scandia, MN; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday, August 21 at the Sebeka United Methodist Church with Pastor Steven Koehne officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Jayne Koskiniemi will serve as organist. Ray Seibert will solo “Are you washed in the Blood/I’ll fly Away.” Congregational hymns include “In the Garden,” The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art.” Honorary Pallbearers are the Staff at Fair Oaks Lodge. Active Casketbearers will be all of her family and friends. Interment will be at Sebeka West Cemetery.
