Gerald “Pete” Lee Denny, 89, of Sebeka, MN passed away at his home in Sebeka on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Pete was born to Frank and Hazel (Kopp) Denny on February 8, 1926. He attended Verndale School through the 8th grade. Gerald was baptized at the Hewitt United Methodist Church. He served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946. Pete was united in marriage to Joyce Roline in September of 1947, and to this union 3 children were born. Pete was a hard working, dedicated, fun to be around guy. He worked at Homecrest, The Hewitt Creamery, dairy famer and many years as a manager at turkey farms. He enjoyed riding horses, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Pete is survived by his wife Joyce of 67 years, daughters, Sharon (Jack) Johnson of Dalbo and Sandy (Gene) Kapphahn of Hewitt; 4 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary, his parents, 4 brothers, Mel, Gordon, Lyle and Donald and a great grandson, Cooper. He will be deeply missed by many! Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Sebeka United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Steven Koehne will officiate. Honorary Pallbearers will be Troy Kapphahn, Todd Kapphahn, Darin Kapphahn, Cory Kapphahn and Tracy Peterson. Wadena VFW will provide Military Honors. Inurnment will be at Hewitt Cemetery at a later date.
