On June 3rd, 2015, Stay-c Kent Milbradt entered into Eternal Life very peacefully and unexpectedly at his home in Minneapolis. Stay-c was born on October 15, 1969 in Wadena to Julius and LaVerne (Redetzke) Milbradt of Sebeka, Minnesota. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church, North Germany Township and was Confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Sebeka. Stay-c delighted in growing up on his parents' Rockwood Township farm. He had a passion for raising quaint chickens that were colored with God's paintbrush! Stay-c loved 'Mother Nature' immensely by spending time fishing and playing in Hay Creek that ran through the farm. His mom would never know when she might be surprised with more Poplar trees transplanted by Stay-c throughout the yard! Stay-c always wanted to make the world a more beautiful place with flowers and grasses. This spring he planted many planters of seeds and over 300 flower bulbs to enjoy watching as they slowly grew! Stay-c attended Sebeka Elementary and High School with incredible creative abilities in music, drama, art, cooking, baking and sewing. His innate talents were magnified by attending St. Cloud Beauty College, St Cloud, Minnesota. Stay-c's dream to live in Minneapolis came true after graduating as a cosmetologist with an emphasis in hair color & design. One of his most impressive job experiences was at Spalon Montage in Edina, Minnesota. Stay-c's warm caring personality continually brought in clients from all over the United States when they were visiting or working in Minneapolis! One of Stay-c's greatest aspirations was to continue to build up his sewing business; "design house of STAY-C KENT". Stay-c uniquely designed and sewed bags made from coffee bean bags and repurposed materials. Gail Rosenblum, Star Tribune columnist, wrote an article about Stay-c's sewing;" ......a business in an unlikely place". After the story of Stay-c was released he was accepted to consign his bags at 'The Global Market' and art shops throughout Minneapolis! Stay-c was an advocate of the Minnesota Historical Society as he researched the history of Minneapolis and St. Paul through the centuries! Stay-c was most appreciative of the superb architecture of the buildings and the unique stories behind each one. Stay-c is lovingly remembered by his mother, LaVerne Milbradt and caring partner, Sean Irish, along with his sister Rosalie (Bill) Schmith and brothers; "Tiny" Lee, Basil and Ryan (Kerry Ann) Milbradt. Dear to Stay-c's heart were his niece, Brook Weber and five nephews, Travis and Brandon Schmith; Jeramie, Taylor and Tyler Milbradt. Stay-c was blessed with five Great-nieces; Amanda, Kassandra and Merissa Schmith, Emerson Reichensperger and Reese Izobel Weber. A Private Family Service was held in honor of Stay-c Kent by Pastor Mark Hesse of Grace Lutheran Church, Sebeka, Minnesota. A "Celebration of Life" will be hosted by Sean Irish in Minneapolis. Stay-c was preceded in death by his father, Julius E. Milbradt; grandparents, Henry and Olga Milbradt and Elmer and Margaret Redetzke of Sebeka, Minnesota; brother Verlin Milbradt and cousin Cory Hought.
