Marvin passed away on April 16, 2015 at Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, Minnesota. He was born on March 7, 1926 to Perly and Anna Anderson in Frazee, Minnesota. Marvin was the sixth of eight children. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church and has resided in the Wolf Lake area all of his life. In June of 1952, he married Shirley Anderson. They had been married 62 years at the time of his passing and had three children. Approximately two years after their marriage, Marvin purchased the farm across the road from his parents and began raising turkeys and cattle, and farming with his father on both farms. He also worked with his brother, Vernon, in the dry wall business for a couple of years. Marvin was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. Marvin was a founder and charter member of Wolf Lake Lions Club and devoted many volunteer hours to the functions of the Club. He also received the Melvin Jones Award from the Lions Club Organization. Marvin was a very hardworking man and when he wasn’t busy working, he loved to hunt, fish, be on the houseboat and entertain family and friends. Since he was a gentle, good natured man, loved by so many and always ready to help whoever needed it, he earned the named "Smiley" as that was his usual facial expression. Marvin was well known for his teasing ways, one-liner jokes and his generosity. Marvin is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, his parents, Perly and Anna Anderson, brothers, Vernon, Glen, Leroy, Lloyd and sister, Ardis.
