She was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church and graduated from high school at Sandborn, MN. On April 12,1950 Helen married Arden Ewert and they farmed near Comfrey, MN and Delft, MN. Helen loved to garden, work with flowers, read, play bingo and cribbage. Helen loved making stocking caps and through the years she gave a couple of thousand caps to school kids and never wanted or accepted even a penny for them. She was also proud of the many quilts for the needy that she helped make with her church group. She also loved putting jigsaw puzzles together with her friends at the Assisted Living Home in Menahga. Helen is survived by her children, Carol (Jim) Flaming of Mountain Lake, MN; Donna (Steve) Gode of Sanborn, MN: Dale (Candi) Ewert of Wadena, MN and Lyle Ewert of Sebeka, MN; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 7 foster grandchildren; sisters: Irene Weber and Evelyn Ekstrand, sisters-in-law: Mary Brietbarth and Betty Boulton; brothers-in-law: Perry (Carol) Ewert, Sidney (Marcella) Ewert and Bob Ewert.
