William Phillip Weisbrod

William Phillip Weisbrod was born on July 28, 1945 to William A. and Bertha Weisbrod in Granite Falls MN. He passed away on September 8, 2014 in rural Sebeka MN at the age of 69. Bill attended Montevideo Elementary School and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1963. Bill was very talented in sports and received many awards in football, baseball and basketball. He was offered a football scholarship to Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and played for them. He graduated from Concordia in 1967 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and a Minor in Political Science. After college Bill traveled as a Bank Examiner for a few years. Then he took a job as a Loan Officer at the First National Bank of Sebeka MN. In 1989 he retired from the bank to become a full-time Rancher. He also enjoyed participating in several area boards including church, township, Sebeka School, Leaf River Ag and many more. Bill raised and enjoyed spending time with his three daughters. They blessed him with four grandchildren, that he loved so very much and cherished every moment spent with them. Bill also enjoyed devoting his time to the Nimrod Church, spending every morning with the coffee crew, golfing and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Bill is survived by his daughters, Tera (Kyle) Puttonen of Sebeka; Whitney (Michael) Stine of Nimrod and Crista (Robert) Jindra of Wadena; Grandchildren, Conner and Capri Stine, Easton Puttonen and William Jindra and also his dear friends. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 15, 2014 at Nimrod Lutheran Church in Nimrod, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Mark Hesse will officiate. Lolita Myers will serve as organist. Honorary Pallbearers will be his sons-in-law, Kyle Puttonen, Michael Stine and Robert Jindra and all who called him friend. Lunch will follow at the Nimrod Senior Citizens Center. Inurnment will be at a later date.
