Lenora Ann Strong

Surrounded by her family, Lenora Ann Strong passed away at the age of 66, on Friday, August 15, 2014, at her home in Apple Valley, MN. Lenora was born to Stuart and Jennie (Randall) Spencer on June 14, 1948 in Wadena, MN. Lenora was united in marriage with Paul Strong on November 15, 1969 in Sisseton, SD. In the years of her youth, Lenora played the french horn and accordion; as well as, enjoyed sports. In addition to raising their two children, Lenora held multiple jobs including the management of a hobby and craft store. She was a fantastic seamstress and spent many hours sewing clothes of all types, including a wedding dress; as well as, numerous crafts for her family and friends to enjoy for years to come. She loved finding a bargain and could spot a garage sale from miles away. More than anything, her greatest joy was her grandchildren. We will miss her great spirit and strength. Lenora was preceded in death by her parents Stuart and Jennie; sisters Bonnie Kraemer and Donna Roiko; brothers Lyle and Lynn and niece Colleen Hegg. She is survived by her devoted husband Paul; children Terry Strong of Apple Valley and Kari (Chris) Lubbers of Farmington; grandchildren Alex and Jenna; brothers Dave(Gwyn) Spencer of Nashville, TN, and Larry (Mary) Spencer of Zimmerman; sister Ruth Sanders of Hopkins; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Sebeka United Methodist Church in Sebeka with visitation two hours prior to the service at the church. Rich Perrine and Jayne Koskiniemi will officiate. Teresa Horton will serve as organist. Active Casketbearers will be Keith Waln, Dylan Waln, Lee Spencer Hotakainen, Jeff Schwartz, Mike Strong and Jay Hotakainen. Interment will be at the Wadena Cemetery.
