Faye Eudora (Downer) Lubahn age 74 passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, MN. Faye was born on November 2, 1939 to Fay and Ruby (Higgs) Downer at the Wadena Hospital. As a young girl Faye was baptized into the Mennonite Faith and she truly loved her Lord. She attended a small country school at Huntersville, MN and then Menahga Public School where she graduated in 1958. Faye went to work at the David Herman Nursing home in Minneapolis, MN, where she met her loving husband Darell and together they had one son, Darell Jr. Faye was a very happy, cheerful lady who loved all of her family and especially loved babies. She loved having company and reading. She also was an immaculate housekeeper. Faye will always be remembered as a sweet lady and as the Nursing Home Staff said, “She always looks so nice and smells so good.” She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two brothers-in-law. She is survived by her son Darell Jr. of Saint Cloud, MN; two sisters Alice Day of Badger, MN; Ruth Ann Frisbie of rural Sebeka, MN; three brothers, Blaine (Violet) Downer of Foley, MN; Lyle (Sheila) Downer of Huntersville, MN and David (Cynthia) Downer of Spooner, Wisconsin and a host of nieces, nephew and friends. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Wevley Funeral Home with visitation two hours prior to the service. Pastor Loren Ferch will officiate and solo “Amazing Grace.” Other special music includes recordings of “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beyond the Sunset.” Serving as pallbearers are Lyle Downer, Doran Downer, Blaine Downer, Richard Frisbie, Lloyd Frisbie and Kelly Frisbie. Interment will be at Shell City Cemetery.
