Stanley Walter Limanen

Stanley Walter Limanen age 61, of Sebeka, MN died at his home Thursday, June 26, 2014. Stan was born to Walter and Lempi (Hotakainen) on April 10, 1953 in Minneapolis, MN. He was baptized and confirmed. In 1967, Stan moved to Sebeka, MN where he met his high school sweetheart LuAnn Windels. They were united in marriage in 1973. They were blessed with two daughters, Jody and Angie. Stan spent most of his life working as a logger and in 1993 he started his own logging business. Stan enjoyed his own younger years playing softball and baseball and was a member of the “Old Mil Gang.” He was an avid fisherman and hunter, who had an eye out for the big trophy. He also spent time with his friends and family snowmobiling, four wheeling and running his remote control trucks. Above all, nothing could beat time spent with his grandchildren. Stan is survived by his spouse, LuAnn of Sebeka; daughters Jody (Tuff) Limanen of Sebeka; Angie (Jason) Vargo of Sebeka; two brothers, Steve (Glenda) Limanen of Sebeka; Stewart (Gail) Limanen of Osage, MN; two sisters, Sharon (Charles) Keskitalo of Sebeka; Sheila (Ken) Kritta of Bovey, MN; sister-in-law Karen (Rich) Brasel of New York Mills, MN; five granddaughters, Chelsea, Erin, Alyssa, Jayden and Anna. He is preceded in death by parents Walter and Lempi Limanen, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial Services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, July 7, 2014 at Wevley Funeral Home of Sebeka, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Steven A. Bruer will officiate. Honorary Pallbearers are his granddaughters.
