Gloria Diane Siltala

Gloria Diane Siltala was born October 31, 1946 to Jacob and Teckla (Bengston) Dost in Wadena, Minnesota. She lived with them in Sebeka until her mother died when she was 5, and then she was raised by two of her aunts. First with Clara (Dost) Campbell in Grinnell, Iowa and then she moved back to live with Myrtle (Bengston) and Harry Kvanvig in Sebeka. On September 26, 1964 she was united in marriage to David Ervin Siltala. They lived in the Minneapolis area for 12 years and moved west of Sebeka where she lived until the time of her death. She passed away peacefully at her home on June 23, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife and mother and served her husband and family faithfully. She enjoyed spending her time with family and especially being a grandma. She also enjoyed reading, singing and music and sang and played in many weddings and funerals. She is survived by her husband David of Sebeka; daughters Shelby (Jurmu) and her husband Nathan of Buffalo, and Michelle (Nevala) and her husband Jonathan of Sebeka; son Shane and his wife LuAnn (Skoog) of Sebeka; 12 grandsons Ryan, Devin, Tanner, Keegan, Tyler, Colton, Chase, Dawson, Jake, Ian, Jack, Bryce, six granddaughters Hayley, Meghan, Tara, Courtney, Tiffany, and Brynlee Gloria; one grandchild due in August; mother-in-law Mildred Siltala. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Teckla Dost; father-in-law Ervin Siltala; daughter Rhonda; granddaughter Kate, and grandson Garrett. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2014 with prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Menahga Laestadian Lutheran Church in Menahga and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at Menahga Laestadian Lutheran Church. Interment will be held at the Hay Creek Cemetery.
