Arnold Ike George

Arnold “Ike” George passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, June 4, 2014 with family at his side. Arnold was born January 23, 1923 in Osage, MN. He married Patricia DeMaris on September 29, 1951 and moved to Hibbing where they raised five children. He worked in the mining industry for 12 years and then Clyde Johnson Construction until he became disabled. In 1993, they moved back to Park Rapids to be near two of their children. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Arnold is survived by his wife Patricia; five children Beverly (Dennis) Wright, Connie Akins, Randy (Diane) George, Pam (Jeff) Howard and Tom (Tracy) George; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Violet, brother Virgil, granddaughter Tara and sister-in-law Phyllis. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 9 at Assembly of God Church, Park Rapids at 1:00 pm with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Osage, MN.
