Delora May Boyer

Delora May Boyer of Wadena, MN died Wednesday April 9, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids, MN at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 31 days.   Delora was born to Clarence and Dorothy (Toby) Hagerman in Wing River Township, Wadena County, MN on April 10, 1933, where she grew up and attended school at District #2. She met the love of her life Gilbert (Bill) Boyer they married on April 4, 1953 and settled on Bill’s home farm in rural Wadena, where they raised their five children. Delora enjoyed gardening and canning, her Hope Chapel Church family, Rockwood Township Ladies Advanced League, Many crafts, listening to Paul Harvey on the radio and playing games with family.   She is survived by her loving husband Bill, children Daughter Wanda of Wadena, MN; son Jim (Jodi Kryzer) of Faribault, MN; De (Jeff Crocker) of Wadena, MN; Diane (Doran) Downer of Huntersville, MN; sister, Arla Tolppi of Sebeka, MN, sister-in-law, Beulah Hagerman of Bozeman, MT; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers Elmo and Roger, son Kyle and nephews Roger and Bill Hagerman.   Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Hope Chapel, rural Verndale, MN with visitation two hours prior to the service at the church. Pastor Neal Malcore will officiate. Judy White will serve as pianist. Active Casketbearers include Virgil Miller, Cody Boyer, Cory Boyer, Vern Johnson, Steve Miller, and Jim Boyer. Interment will be at Wadena Cemetery.
