Helen Audrey Wheeler

Helen Audrey Wheeler passed away at the age of 80 years old on February 17th, 2014. Helen, born on May 25th, 1933, in Litchfield, MN, was the second daughter of Reuben and Florence Anderson. . On June 20th, 1951, Helen married James Wheeler in Breckenridge, MN. In 1955, they moved to Sebeka where they have resided since and raised their three children, Jimmy, Janelle, and Jeff. Jim and Helen celebrated 62 years of marriage in June 2013. For the past 17 years, they spent their winters in Phoenix, AZ. Helen was a kind and caring person who often took care of others when they were sick and in need. She loved living on the family farm and raising her children. When their children were grown and left home, she traveled with her husband for his work. After retirement, they spent their winters in Arizona and their summers on the farm where she continued her hobbies of gardening, scrapbooking, and knitting. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her Aunt Mabel, her sister Ruth, and two nephews. She is survived by her husband, James Wheeler; son, Jim and his wife Luann (Eckert) Wheeler, daughter, Janelle and her husband Charles Karlson, and son Jeff and his wife Judy (Schwartz) Wheeler; grandchildren, Nicole Wheeler, Kristy (Wheeler) and her husband Scott Wisniewski, Heather Bettis (Richard Johnston), Brandon and his wife Erin (Fasnacht) Bettis, Holly (Bettis) and her husband Rick Matheson, Tyler and his wife Alisha Wheeler, and Courtney Wheeler; great-grandchildren Madilyn and Landon Wisniewski, Whitney and Kennedy Bettis, Lily and Isiah Wheeler, Ethan Matheson. Services will be held at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, MN. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 19th from 5-7pm and Thursday, February 20th from 10-11am. The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 20th at 11am. Final resting place will be at Sebeka West Cemetery.
